A gutter full of leaves does not just look bad. Water that cannot get down the downspout goes over the front edge onto the beds and the foundation, or backs up under the first row of shingles into the fascia board. Most rotten fascia and a good share of wet basements start with a clogged gutter.
We clear every run by hand from the ladder, scooping the leaves, twigs and the black sludge underneath them. A quick pass that takes the leaves and leaves the sludge is what sends the next clog straight into the downspout. Then we flush each downspout with a hose until it runs clear at the bottom, and clear the elbow if it does not. Everything we take out goes in a bag, not on your lawn or in your beds.
- What comes out: leaves, seed pods, twigs, shingle grit, nests, the compost layer at the bottom and whatever is packed in the downspout elbows.
- What we check: that each downspout drains, where the water goes when it leaves the spout, and any loose hangers, open seams or sections that hold water. We tell you what we found. We do not do repairs.
- What you get: a photo of every gutter run after it is cleared, texted to you the same day.

What working gutters protect
Gutters have one job: get the roof water away from the house. When they do it, nothing else gets wet.
The foundation and basement
A roof sheds a lot of water in a Wisconsin storm. When it lands at the foundation instead of ten feet away, it finds its way into the basement and heaves the concrete walk in winter.
The fascia and soffit
Water that backs up at the roof edge soaks the fascia board behind the gutter. It rots quietly, and by the time the gutter sags, the board is gone and the repair is a carpenter’s job, not a cleaning.
Ice dams
A gutter full of wet debris freezes solid in December. Meltwater has nowhere to go and backs up under the shingles. A late-fall cleaning after the leaves drop is the cheapest ice dam prevention there is.
Cleared by hand, photographed
The finished gutter face, and the hand cleanout behind it. The before and after is on the slider at the top of this page.

Gutter face and soffit after cleaning. Clean-out photos of every run go to you by text.
Cleared by hand from the ladder, scooped into a bag, then flushed. The sludge at the bottom comes out too, not just the leaves on top.
Soffit and fascia run, 2026. The gutter face and the soffit are cleaned when you pair a gutter cleanout with a house wash. More pairs on the Our Work page.
What gutter cleaning does and does not do
- Gutter guards: most screen and mesh guards can be lifted, cleaned under and put back. Some covered systems cannot. Tell us what you have and we will say what we can do.
- Underground drains: we flush the downspout to where it enters the ground. If the buried line is blocked, we tell you. Clearing it is a different trade.
- Outside of the gutter: the black stripes on the face are not part of a cleanout. They come off with a house wash, and many homeowners book both on the same visit.
- Repairs: we note loose hangers, open seams and bad pitch and show you the photo. We do not reseal or rehang gutters.
- How often: twice a year for most homes, late spring after the seed pods and late fall after the leaves. Houses under oaks and maples may need a third visit.
Three steps, no surprises
1. Free Exterior Assessment
We measure the gutter runs, count the downspouts, look at the roof height and the ground around the house for ladder placement. You get a written price before anything starts.
2. The day before
We text a short list: unlock the gate, move cars from under the roofline, leave the outside spigot on. You do not need to be home.
3. Cleaning day
Most houses take one to two hours. Every run cleared by hand, every downspout flushed, debris bagged, ladder marks rinsed off the siding, and photos of every run texted before we leave.
Before you book
Will you leave a mess in the yard?
No. Everything that comes out of the gutter goes into a bag on the ladder, and the bags leave with us. Anything that falls gets picked up, and ladder marks on the siding get rinsed before we go.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need the gate unlocked, the cars out from under the roofline and the outside spigot on. We text when we arrive and send the photos of every run when we leave.
What if a downspout still backs up?
Tell us within 30 days and we come back and clear it at no charge. That is the 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. It covers the gutters and downspouts we cleaned. It does not cover a buried drain line or a gutter that is pitched wrong, and we tell you about either one on the day.
Tell us about the house
